Help with European vacation....

Ok, from experience on other forums on the web, I know I will get flamed for asking questions without first using the search function, but here goes anyway...

I'd prefer to do 4 nights in London and Paris.

You have little time as it is; don't spend it running around from place to place.

I agree with James on this one without a doubt. I think you'd be better just picking one country and exploring it better than dashing all over the continent and only seeing a tiny bit of what each place has to offer.

For example if you go to Paris you could spend two weeks really exploring northern France, there are some beautiful cities like strasbourg which arent too far away, and you have Normandy which you could take a few days to explore.

If you fancy England then there is so much more to it than just London. You could even spend some time in the UK then take a few days out in Paris on the Eurostar (its only a few hours away)

Unless you really have your heart set on Barcalona... in which case stick to spain. There is plenty there that could fill your two weeks!

One other thing i would mention is the 8 or 9 hour (depending on where you go) jet lag you'll experience when you get here. I did a fair bit of travelling with my family including my nephew who was a similar age to your daughter when i was younger and loads of trains cars planes and jet lag made it really unpleasant for him... so he made it unplesant for us!!

If you decide to head to the UK dop me a message, i'd be more than happy to point out a few things to do!

If you really want to see Barcelona I would advise to fly from Paris to Barcelona. You don't have a lot of time so don't waste it on a night train. There are several carriers that fly from Paris to Barcelona so you should be able to find a decent deal.

I also think two days is not enough to see Barcelona. I went there for a weekend and two days is just scratching the surface.

It's always a hard decision on whether to see a lot of couple places or a little of several. I've lived in Paris and London and you definitely won't be disappointed if you just split your time between both. Both offer good day trip opportunities as well. At the same time, Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in Europe and it would be interesting to see the three different cultures in one trip.

London and Paris are very big cities but you can have a good glimpse of them if you spend 3 nights in each. Barcelona is not so big and most of the interesting places are in a walking distance.
I would suggest you to fly from Paris to Barcelona as it is a long way to do it by train and probably more expensive. There are several low cost air companies serving the two cities.
The budget you mention should be enough for a confortable holiday.
I live in Barcelona and if you need more information about the city do not hesitate to send me a message .

I agree with them too. Paris is wonderfull , and you can spend 3-4 days 'cause they are many things to do there.
However, when did u plan to start your trip ? Maybe u can start to search if they are special events and where..Maybe it can help you to decide how long will u stay and in which town.
