Melbourne to Byron Bay, then back to Sydney

Hi, I am hoping somebody can help me, I have got a six week gap between finishing one job and starting a new one, so I have booked flights from the UK to Fiji for a week, New Zealand for two weeks and Australia for two weeks.
I am going to be flying into Melbourne, could somebody tell me if it is realistic to aim to get up to Byron Bay and back to Sydney for my flight home in two weeks. I am travelling on my own so will be using buses as cant afford to hire a car on my own.
Thankyou in advance x

yes realistic. have not used buses but expect a long trip on greyhound over a day would get you there.
love byron bay!!!! the place to be!!!!

Hi, Thanks, thats what Ive heard which is why Im so keen to get there.
Do you think I'd be wiser to fly into Brisbane and bus it down the coast to Melbourne so Im going in one direction? Ive found out that I still have a week and a bit to alter my flights free of charge.
I wish I had more time!!
Sian x

You can travel Melbourne - Byron Bay - Sydney in two weeks, but I think where you start and finish should depend on where you plan to spend most of your time. If you're able to fly out of Brisbane you could do Melbourne-Brisbane via Byron Bay.
