I hope this help if any one was wondering if thay should bring there
Totally - i never travel without my netbook!
Well, I just spent a long time travelling with a notebook...and a big one. I hated having to lug it around....but I used it a lot and it turned into a source of entertainment for me.....
I just think that the whole point of travelling is to get away from that kind of stuff. I was carrying the laptop only because I had used it for a job and was travelling between that country and home with all this stuff...also included with my gear on this trip to a tropical climate, two winter jackets, scarves, and toques.
I find that people have begun to use these things like a crutch. If there is any kind of lull in a conversation, or any kind of input, people are slapping at their hips to fiddle around with their phones. I worry about this for society in general, but I am reallyt sad about this becoming a travelling staple. It's just too easy to lose yourself in fiddling around on the computer rather than going out and getting yourself in trouble. You are there to see what you can see, not to mess with the internet....Please, use it that way.
With this caution, then, I say that travelling with a laptop can be beneficial. Wi Fi is ubiquitous in evcen the most financially depressed country and it can be used for many things. Bring some little speakers. LG has a pair that are the size of a slip cellphone with good output.

In some way i agree with what you are saying as i dont use my phone much and it nice just to leave it turned off but with my laptop on the night i had nothink to do or i was in the middle of nowere some people read book i watch film plus im away for a long time maybe 2yrs so i need to keep saveing pic and check mail and stuff but if i was only away for a few month then maybe it i wouldnt of brought my lappy
Ok, this may seem like a silly question. As it's been a few years since I've last travelled and in the day before wi-fi was extremely common, do a lot of people actually travel with their laptops now? Personally, I'd be worried about security in hostels with that one, as well as the possibility of heat, water, etc. damage.
yes..but I have a question ...Is it possible to take a laptop when we have adventure travel to forest... Am afraid of bugs and tiny insects as it should not make any glitch... How can we take our lappy...My question may be crazy but pls reply me

To keep it protected from moisture you can seal the laptop in a plastic wallet that has a zip. But if you drop your backpack with your laptop in it.. its gona get damaged, unless its well protected with bubble wrap maybe. But that could be a bit time comsuming. Mind you, if your in a jungle I doubt you will be getting your laptop out much, can't imagine getting a Wi Fi signal out there! Or you might but knowing my luck it will be a secured connection!! Ha!
I've never taken a laptop away but on my next trip I will!
Been traveling Europe for over 3 months and my netbook has been the single most important item I have stuffed inside my bag. The Eee PC is about as small and thin as a 150 page book.
Keep an extra external HD for storing movies, music and photos.
hey SassyKitty and jensysmith
nothing in this world is safe if some one wont it they will have it u just have to make hard for them but it not just laptop people look out for people can take ur clothes out of the washing room so every think you bring u have to watch it all.
Back packer of today bring all sort with them like me i brought my own resistance band so i can train and they are just as important to me as my lappy like Seany said get an net book with an hard drive and you be fine and they are easy to carry i would be lost with out mine and all my films plus you will save loads on the free internet go to :mcdonalds or http://www.unwired.com.au/get/storefinder.php?p=3 for free internet
Im in cairns at the moment and in 2 week im going to capetribbeach jugle walk im staying there for 1 night and my lapy coming along lol so ill let you know how i get on there
I can see where the netbooks would be a bit more inconspicuous, I just spent a lot of money on my laptop, safe to say it's definitely more appealing to snatch then some of my clothes! Times have changed I guess since I've last been travelling.
