Egypt - via East Africa - Cape Town

Hey!!

I haven't been there myself but you might want to read , as he does pretty much exactly the route that you are plannning on so you might find it helpful and interesting. It's a good read.

Your response is much appreciated! I ordered the book online, and it came today...

This is late but you still might check.
Drove that route in 2008 visiting the majority of countries in your itinerary. But don't miss out on Namibia. Had heard it was an amazing place to visit and completely agree. Going back in 2 weeks for a further 10 weeks. Our trip www.jelga2africa08.blogspot.com if you are interested.

Some guys just did the drive from London to Cape Town in 11 days (driving 20 hours per day mind you) and not stopping for tourist spots! Most people take 6 months. I am doing the trip in Jan, and plan on taking 3.5 months. (Quickly get through North Africa).

From Europe to Africa you have 3 options: 1) Through Middle East (dont go into Israel), 2) Palermo Ferry to Tunis, and 3) Ferry from Venice to Alexandria.

Would reccomend Mozambique as a country, my favourite in Africa so far! If you can get to the north beaches such as Choccas beach. You have deserted beach, caribbean like sand and water, and the most incredible food on the planet!

Thanks,

Jamie
