I'd like to spend 2-4 months in west africa traveling and studying traditional drumming. I'm particularly interested in Guinea because I'd like to brush up on my french, and I'm generally interested in Ghana and Mali because I know great drums come from there. Beyond that I'm just interested in the adventure and the challenge of exploring Africa. I don't have any of the details sorted out yet and I'm not planning to go until August 2012, so I think I'll have plenty of time to plan.
