Despite all Im seeing on the news Im seeing no mention of flood advice here, Im due to leave for Bangkok in 2 weeks and then onto Laos and Cambodia and from the news reports Ive all but cancelled my trip (well 48hrs away anyway)

I'm still dry, in northern Bangkok, but the guestimates are for about 2 days for the water to hit here. I at about the same latitude as Chatuchack. They don't seem to be giving guesses for downtown.
There are shortages of water and some food items. Some restaurants have closed and others are bound to follow.
The very few reports of Cambodia and Laos aren't very good either.
If you can reschedule, a later date would be better for a holiday. You can get here, and stay safe, but inconveniences will abound.

flooding in bangkok will be extended about six weeks. All flights and tour must be canceled by the situation. Travelers have turned to neighboring countries.
Yes, the neighboring countries, with almost no infrastructure, are doing much better...
thanks to all for your comments, I have decided to cancel till February, I dont want to add to problems the residents are having already and dont wish to put myself in the firing line as well, esp if the airport is affected
hope all go okay but its not looking good now, they finally showed something on the news here in australia now the queen has decided to leave and let the news return to normal,

Some parts of Bangkok were flooding. Don Mueang Airport is already affected. Some subways were closed. There's no problem in Central Bangkok, the transportation is easily available. If you would like to travel in the province, the difficulty of the transportation arise. The water's are really high, if you persist, you can take the big trucks who can transport you from the other side with no flood waters. Nonthaburi is close to BKK and is already hit by floods. Foods are also problem too. If you will go to malls and seven eleven, only empty racks are available. It's better to postpone your trip for awhile to be safe as I believe anytime floods will struck Bangkok anytime. The Chao Phraya river holds no bounderies. Helpless people tried to use sandbags to hold the waters. This made me worry here, it might not hold the pressure of the water and severe flooding would struck anytime. Help us pray for God's intervention...:-)
