Looking to meet fellow travellers in Melbourne after 3/11/11

Hi there i am travelling to Melbourne 31st October and was wondering if anyone else will be travelling there who might need someone to meet up with.
My plan is to go to Melbourne and slowly work my way up to Cairns (working holiday Visa) and fly back to the UK in March next year.
I should be spreading Xmas and new year in Sydney then getting the coach up the east coast over the next few months to arrive in cairns for my flight back to the UK
