hey!
I am off to S.F next week frm 26-2nov for work, i'll be working during the day but i would also like to see the town at night, iam on my own what do you recommend?
There are lots of places to go to in SF for fun. Any small restaurant along Columbus street will be great--and a few in Chinatown, such as the Empress Palace.
For nightlife there are choices:
Clubs: Ruby Skye or go to www.donovansf.com and book ahead for a weekend event
Pubs: Any Irish pub or hotel bar near the financial district (close to Market and Montgomery streets).
Shows: Beach Blanket Babylon near Little Italy or Teatro Zinzanni near the Embarcadero or Hair at the Golden Gate Theatre or Circue du Soleil - Totem at the Grand Chapiteau at AT&T Park.
Comedy club is on Columbus between Little Italy and Fisherman's Wharf.
Or go down by Fisherman's Wharf or Ghiradelli Square and look for jazz clubs or just to hang out with the crowds. And pick up an Irish Coffee at Bella Vista. Trust me, you'll have no trouble finding things to do in SF.
It would help to know if you're gay (the castro district) or straight (the marina district)? Just stay out of the tenderloin!
hey!!!thanks guys for your answers....just come back to 'sunny' England, had a week in San Francisco, i stayed in a nice little hotel in the marina area which was great and lucky me it was halloween....i have met so many people, i could not believe how open, friendly and warm the people were, was also so amazed to see everybody working out so much... I also managed to go and see the 49ers at candle stick...memorable moment....san francisco, i ll be back!!!
Well, I'm glad you had a great time--and sorry our posts were so late compared to when you took your trip. Fortunately, it sounds like you had a great time anyway--and based upon your outgoing personality--it sounds like you are just the kind of person we here in northern California will be glad to have return not only soon, but also often.
will contact when i do!!! off to thailand in jan ) god bless
