Hi Guys,
Hi Craig,
I'm thinking of going in march, although I haven't booked my flights yet.. Starting in sydney and travelling up the east coast. This is the first time I've traveled and will be going on my own, I am totally clueless so definitely need help too!!! I will need to find work out there at some point, does anyone know how easy it is to find work?
Sheridan x
Hey guys,
I'll be traveling there early next year (probably March or April) to work. Sheridan, let me know what you find out! :-)

Hi All
My girlfriend and I are flying out to Melbourne early Feb, we have booked our flights and first 2 weeks accommodation in Base Hostel!
We did this through STA Travel, I was going to try and avoid the middle man, but they basically do it for you! The package includes shuttle to the Hostel from airport, Oz Sim card and Oz Bank Account. This could have been done by us, but as this is our first time travelling we thought this was the best way to go about things!
The plan is to probably work up the East Coast and find work, I want to do fruit picking and maybe work on a ranch! I think those 2 jobs sound really cool!
I will be 27 by the time we leave, and my girlfriend 22
Hope to make new friends on the way
Morgan
That was another one of my questions actually, should I book accommodation beforehand or just find somewhere when I arrive? Most probably going to be asking ridiculous amounts of questions on here, like I said totally clueless!
Hey Sheridan12
As a first time traveler I would probably say book an appointment at your local STA!
They are quite helpful, but make sure you so some research first!
It's fine mate, I have loads of questions, I have put off booking for ages as it is a pretty big decision to make flying to the other side of the world. But now it is booked I am finally actually going!
Once you get out there I am sure it will be fine, people you meet will be out there for the same reasons as you, and will have the same or similar questions!
But definitely make sure you book accommodation before you get there!
Morgan
Yeah will definitely make an appointment.. I've been wanting to travel for so long, wasn't the slightest bit nervous before but now that it's getting pretty close I'm thinking maybe it would be sensible to have a little bit of a plan although I'm sure when I arrive I'll work it all out
Hey guys, I'm looking to travel to Australia in jan/feb and I'm goin alone. I'm planning on going to cairns first working my way down and then working in Sydney or Melbourne the. Doing soe more travelling
I've got a little plan worked out and I know some good places to go and places to stay. If anyone is thinking the same thing then give me a shout. Bit dubious about going on my own
Oh and by the way don't waste ya money on these intro sites. You meet soooo many people when ya just rock up in a hostel and introduce yourself, see who's doing what and join in!!!!
Hey Sheridan
It seems that your plans are pretty similar to mine. What are your plans for work? Are you looking to do a bit of travelling first then get a job when you start to run out of money or get a job as soon as possible? Also can anyone recommend any good hostels in Sydney?
Craig
Hey
Im not 100% sure, it would probably be sensible to start looking for work when I get there but I've never been that sensible.. What are your plans? Are you planning on doing any fruit picking to get a second year visa?
Sheridan
