I'm new to the site, but wanting to head out of Melbourne towards GOR or Mornington for the day/weekend. I'm looking to hike, stop in a town, rent a car, whatever... good for hostels, motels, etc. I just really need to get out of Melbourne for a day or two. Is anyone interested?

Great plan! Love Melbourne but there is heaps to see nearby. You might like to get in touch with Emma (), she's based in Geelong and could be interested in a trip down the coast.
