The South of the North - 6 to 8 weeks

Hello,

Oh and my budget is 3 - 4 grand. Any thoughts?

Six weeks on $3,500 is less than $85/day. Personally I couldn't do it, but if you're an experienced low budget traveller who is happy with no frills whatsoever I suppose anything is possible. It sure wouldn't be my idea of fun though.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

PS Have you researched transportation and accommodation costs?...

Hello,

I actually meant 3-4 thousand (English) pounds which I guess is about 8 thousand dollars. And yeah, I have factored in accommodation costs roughly. .

Cheers

3,500 GBP is nowhere near 8 grand... it's a little over $5,000 USD, that's all.

You need to get a better grip on money exchange before travelling internationally, otherwise it'll be a rude awakening when your budget goes out the window...

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

Ok I won't go then. Thanks for your help.

Haha...

Have fun with your research.

Cheers,
Terry

I travelled across the USA last year for 8 weeks. I took about 7k. It only cost me more because I hired a car later on the trip so things got more expensive. I reckon without the car I could of done it for around 4-5k. I stayed in B&B accommodation throughout my whole trip and made friends through a lot of the B&B owners who I am still on contact with and seeing a couple of them when I go back later this year. Nashville is cool. I only went to Memphis briefly to go see Graceland and went on a night out on Beale Street. Nashville is quite cool and I wish I spent a bit more time there. The music scene is crazy in the south. New Orleans - Well that place is magical. Had the best time there. I can't recommend it enough. You'll have an ace time no matter what age you are.
