Hi - I can rearrange my blog entries so the oldest shows first, but I can't seem to do it for the photos so the oldest shows in the gallery first. Is there a way to do this? I don't need to rearrange them in any other way, but it's better if someone new wants to read my entire blog if they can start both the entries & the photos at the beginning without going to the last page to do so.
Hi judesbali,
As per if you choose to display photos in the sidebar of your blog, they are not tied to your blog entries in any way. It is merely a preview of the photos in your Travellerspoint member gallery, with the most recently uploaded photos displayed.
To include the matching photos with your text, click the picture icon (seen ) when editing your entry. You can edit your past entries at any time under Manage Entries in your blog's .
My query isn't the same as the other one that Sander answered - I know I can't make the pics match the blog without inserting them.
This is simply a request to see if there's a way to change them to oldest first when displaying in the gallery instead of newest first, in the same way we can do it with the blog entries.
Thanks
Would make sense to allow this - fits quite well in what a visitor would expect when browsing an oldest-first type of blog.

I'm sorry judesbali, I had taken the above sentence to refer to the display of your blog. In answer to your query there is no feature that currently allows this.
It is an interesting point of what one would expect to see in a photo gallery. For example, I think most recent photos fit with keeping track of a traveller/loved one's travels but possibly grouped uploads would give a more organised layout? Then from the overview of past uploads visitors could either look at the oldest, newest, or specific event photos. If it is possible to do so, would something like that be helpful?
Absolutely it would. In fact I suggested something similar a while ago because I wanted to be able to keep the photos for each trip separate so people reading each trip's blog wouldn't get confused with the wrong photos.
For someone like me who isn't able to travel all the time (this trip was more than 2 years after my last one), we get new contacts who we send the link to. It stands to reason that if we can create new blogs with the same login, then we should at least be able to group photos according to each blog.
When I was told by you guys that my photo gallery was simply a "newest photo first" arrangement, I had to create a different login to avoid having to explain all this to my contacts.
A first step would be to allow the option of sorting the gallery by oldest photo first. Then perhaps have a separate gallery for each new trip blog.
You have a great site with huge potential, and it's disappointing that you don't seem to have the active membership that you used to. I for one always recommend you to my friends who travel. Perhaps making things more user friendly in this way would help.
I'll talk to Peter and see if the grouped display would be possible.
In terms of grouping photos with your blog entries, it is possible to do this in two different ways.
For your photos, if location data is available they will show in a country gallery like this: . You can then include that link in any relevant blog entries.
You can also use tags on your images to group images around a similar theme or trip. For example, these are Sander's photos tagged 'berlin': . You then simply need to include the tag gallery link in any corresponding blog entries.
Another option, if you don't already, could be to use tags in your blog. This would be one way to group entries together, either by location or specific trip eg. #Roadtrip2013.
The blogging platform wasn't originally built with the intention of having a different blog for each trip, but the management of your photos and entries is up to you. The galleries will still display the most recent photo first but this way it includes only the images you have tagged as being relevant to the entry/country/trip.
