I'm on a WHV as well and been in Melbourne the past 3 months nearly. It's a class city, you'll like it! If you want to meet up for a coffee/drink at any stage, sure give us a shout. Am always up for meeting fellow travellers and can give ya some help regarding the city and all that. And sure never know, travel plans might match up as well.

I'm starting off in Mount Martha (Mornington) as I can stay with friends there but I'm hoping to leave there pretty quickly and use hostels, where abouts are you based at the moment?

Mornington is real nice! Take advantage of the beach there while your staying there. Sounds good though, very handy to have mates when ya arrive. I'm out in Toorak at the moment. It's a suburb about 15 mins away from both the city or the St. Kilda.

Nah, staying out in a house. Em, well I think it's ok. I mean there's plenty of jobs advertised on Gumtree, which you apply for but in addition, you have to physically go into like every place you see and hand in a cv. That's how found one my jobs (walked in, interview next day, working the third day). Ya just gotta remember that there's going to be a lot of backpackers applying for each one job ya know. Though I've noticed places hiring Xmas staff at the moment, so helps the situation.
Three of us should look to meet sure when ya get over Andrew! Am connected to both of ya's on Facebook already, so all good! Have anymore questions/worries, sure don't hesitate to give us a shout
