Rules of Travel?

Received some spam snail mail today from a cruise company, supposedly professing the "rules" of travel.

Ruke #9: Don't cruise unless there's no other way

I've been on a number of cruises and enjoyed them. I'd go on another tomorrow if I had the money. A great way to see a lot of places in a short time, especially the Caribbean. No hassle about carrying luggage, booking hotels, arranging travel, and when you get to a port, often a number of tours available. And of course all your meals are arranged, and sometimes all your drinks too.

There are usually bargains available so you should not have to pay full price.

this is very nice sharing by calcruzer i really like it

  1. 1. Get to know the locals when traveling. Do what they do, hang-out where they do, talk to them etc.

Unfortunately this is hard to do when cruising as port stops are short and usually to tourist spots. I am not anti-cruising, but in my experience traveling via other means is more enjoyable for what I want to experience. Traveling to me isn't just seeing the sites, but experiencing the culture. Just my take on it.
