Hi all! I'm a first time travellerspoint user and forum writer. :D
I think you'll be absolutely exhausted if you try and fit all of this in; it means a lot of flying and a lot of jet lag in the space of 4 weeks. For example, flying between the Seychelles and Sydney will be a huge flight which will most likely involve a change of planes in Southern Africa, and you'll have a big time difference to deal with in Australia. (Johannesburg to Sydney is a 13 hour flight). Sydney to Perth (where you will fly to for Margaret river) is around 4.5 hours flying time; Perth to Auckland is around 7 hours. Auckland to Buenos Aires is 13 hours flying with another big time difference. 5 days each in Australia and New Zealand is hardly worth it considering the distance you're travelling, so personally I'd cut out the that part of the trip completely and save it for a time when you can do it properly. 3 days is nowhere near enough for Brazil and Argentina; Buenos Aires is worth a few days and you need at least 2 days at Iguacu Falls and another few for the Mendoza region, which is around 15 hours on a bus from Buenos Aires. I haven't been to Rio but I would guess that's worth a few days too.
I think if you cut some destinations out it would be an amazing trip, but you don't want to get back home feeling like you need a holiday and that you haven't seen anywhere properly!
Personally I don't think "round the world trip" and "4 weeks" should ever be mentioned in the same sentence, but that's just me.
If you're looking to use up a pile of Skymiles and collect a few passport stamps while quickly seeing a few sights then fine, go for it, but heed Bex's comments about jet lag and just how much time you're spending in the aircraft, the airport, and travelling to and from airports.
Have fun.
Cheers,
Terry
Thanks for giving me plenty to think about. I've been so focused on accumulating all of the miles, that I hadn't truly considered some of these important factors you have kindly pointed out.
Maybe consider a RTW trip when you have 4 months instead of 4 weeks, and reconsider these 4 weeks as a chance to relax and enjoy a certain area more in-depth. A bit of immersion when travelling is always more fun than simply ticking off boxes of "must see" tourist sites from a guide book.
In any case, different strokes... we're all different... have a gas no matter where you go.
Cheers,
Terry
