Hope you are enjoying Sydney. After I left Sydney in 2010 I headed to Indo. I only visited a few places so I can’t offer that much advice, but if you get a chance I would say go to Kuta, Lombok which was lovely, very laid back and undeveloped and Gili Meno which is again a really nice little island where you can totally chill out and relax. I spent a few days there and it was very peaceful and serene.

I’m sure others will be able to offer more advice.

If you start in Bali,
Kuta is the best spot,
and then you can go to Benoa, Bedugul and their Ubud, Kintamani and perhaps you want to climb Mt.Agung that would be your great adventuring at Bali :D

After Bali you can cross to Lombok,
they're many spot you can reach, from Gili Air and Gili Trawangan (peaceful beauty beach in Lombok),
and the most wanted mount to climb, Mt. Rinjani

But if you want another sollution, you can choose Yogyakarta or Malang,
but i dont know what do you like : beach or mount :D

Yogayakarta have various tourism object.
But not recomanded if you come in Yogyakarta on holiday because its too crawed.

Yogyakarta have unique culture, nature, etc.
