Chinese VISA

My wife and I will be visiting China whilst on a cruise and so we will need a visa.

It's easy enough to do yourself - just apply at your nearest Chinese consulate or embassy.

I agree with Bex76.

Good luck & enjoy China - it's amazing!

Thanks. It will be our first venture into Vietnam, china and japan.

As I live right out in the sticks (St Neots, Cambs) I was hoping that I could get one on line without paying extra to some expensive website. http://1.tpstc.com/img/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You definitely don't need to go through an expensive website, but as far as I know you won't be able to submit your application online as you'll need to send your passport and passport photos. The embassy or consulate website will have all the relevant forms. You don't need to apply in person so it shouldn't matter that you live in the sticks.

I think the Chinese Embassy in the UK has outsourced their Visa applications to some sort of agency, but it's all legit and you don't pay extra for it.

I applied for a Visa in July this year, and paid around £83 in total. It is cheaper if you go to the Embassy yourself (by around £20) but it'll cost you that (and more) to get to Manchester or Central London.
