Las Vegas most do's

I shall be going to Vegas with my partner next Feb (have booked 4 nights at New York New York) where we shall be getting married. We already have come up with a list of things to do and places to eat but wondered (for those that have been) what are the things we should not miss out on.

You MUST do the grand canyon if you have NOT

The stratosphere for lunch or dinner is definately a must do

Greeners29,
There is more to do in Vegas than your 4 days will allow. We have plenty of 'must see' that are Bellagio Fountains & their Conservatory., Mirage Volcano, Sirens of the TI, next to volcano. Flamingo pool area for birds. Caesars Palace will a must see casino, Forum Shops have 2 free shows, Atlantis the the better one. Venetian is worth walking around IMO. Lobby, canal shops, perhaps ride the gondola. Their atrium changes with the seasons, Will be Chinese New Year in Feb. The should be open in Feb. World's Tallest Observation Wheel, between the Flamingo & The Quad. Not free of course, but will be worth your time/money I think. Great views from top of the Stratosphere. Many go up the Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel as well. Fremont St. Experience is all free and worth an few hours of your time. I have photos in my gallery of most of this. Give me a shout a week before you arrive and I will try to get you some free shows while you are here

Good luck with your planning.

Thanks Mike, much appreciated.

We already have a long list and we know that some of it we wont have time to do.

The must do's to date for us are.....

1) Grand Canyon by helicopter
2) We are going to hire a car for the day and drive to Red Rock Canyon, Hoover dam and Valley of fire.
3) going to go to a shooting range and fire some automatic rifles ( cant do this in the UK)

and most of the things you have mentioned are on our list. Its just a case of prioritising what we dont want to miss out on. We also have to fit in our wedding, which we are looking at doing at Red rock.

As you might have read, Congress could not agree on spending and the Federal Gov't shut down Oct. 1. All National Parks are shut until they resolve the issue. I cannot believe that this will still be a problem in Feb, but with these fools, you never know! I have a about shooting machine guns in Vegas. Very popular activity it seems.

Mike you are probably local))

Unfortunetely I wasnt realy impressive about Grand Canyon. But some hotels are realy mindblowing. Like Mike said you realy should visit Caesars Palace & Paris hotel also Belagio.
There are some new marvelous hotels too like The D. BTW there are brand new hotel just in Caesars Palace called the Nobu Hotel. They are realy bright.

Get the Buffet of Buffet cards. If you work it right you can get 4 meals out of that $75. Check the schedules of all the free street shows, the Bellagio Water Fountain, the Volcano eruption, and the Sirens of Treasure Island schedule time to see them.

The Mob Museum is interesting, ride the canals at the Venice, see the car museum at the Palazzo. If you have kids with you (or are a kid yourself,) go to the Stratosphere and have them ride some of the rides.

Also - try to stay towards the middle of the Strip around MGM or so. Otherwise expect to ride the monorail or take taxies.

I just don't think the Buffet Card is good value. Trying to eat 4 buffets in 24 hours? Great way to get sick. You might take a look at some of the . Use just 1 or 2 of them for rooms, buffets and they more than pay for themselves.

The Auto Collection is at The Quad, not the Palazzo. if you print a ticket. I have photos of this, page 3 of my gallery.

I suggest you find the best value hotel room you can for your dates. Save your money for other things. Best way (cheapest) to Vegas is the 24 hr bus pass, $8

Dont book your grand canyon tour until you actually arrive! there are so many companies on the strip that are so much cheaper.
You will not have enough time for all youwant to do!
Enjoy
