USA

Hello All those that know USA and Canada,

When is this happening?

First two weeks in November

The best Philly Cheese Steak I found was a street vendor by the Liberty Bell. even better than the ones listed on trip advisors and those sites. The guy was really friendly and made it to order. It was the best of all the places I have been there.

Okay, here goes with the most popular places for politicians, lobbyists, and administrators. I used to live in Baltimore and go to DC often and so saw some politicians at two of these places. Be aware that these places are expensive, and most won't let you just stand around waiting to see politicians and movie stars.

1. Cafe Milano (in Georgetown)--a Bill and Hillary Clinton favorite, and Julia Roberts (who lives in Georgetown) goes here occasionally.
2. Tosca--the in spot. favorite for lobbyists and Supreme Court justices (said to be Scalia's favorite restaurant). It is also said to be the place where Senator Tom Daschle convinced Obama to run for President.
3.Bistro Bis--a favorite of Obama before he became President--and also where Julia Roberts hangs out a lot. This one is crowded with politicians by the score.
4. Westend Bistro (in the Ritz-Carlton)--the hangout of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid
5. Good Stuff--a pizza and burger place that is said to be a favorite of Michelle Obama
6. Art and Soul--where Oprah Winfrey goes when she is in town since the place is run by Art Smith who used to be her personal chef.
7. Capital Grill--a favorite of George Bush (junior)'s two daughters, one of who works in town as a lobbyist.
Other popular spots are: Charlie Palmer (a steakhouse), Bourbon Steak (a steakhouse), Blue Duck (where Bono from U2 goes often), Equinox, and The Palm.
Enjoy your trip to DC.
