Anyone know the best option for this,
I checked out the flights but they are so expensive I'm looking at other options.Is the ferry reliable, I've read a number of post on the Internet saying it isn't and you can arrive at the port and it's cancelled.
I don't believe there is a port near Sharm which would be the nearest port.How long is the journey by bus which travels via Israel, any problems on the border does anyone know.
It's some years since we were in Israel so not sure on the situation there now.
I've done quite a bit of research and unfortunately not all the information is correct.
Up to date advice would be very useful or a website that is up to date we leave England on the 4th January and arrive in Sham late January.

Someone I know was on a cruise this year that stopped in Jordan & they were advised not to travel to Petra. The whole boat load of people were bitterly disappointed. Too bad - it is a great place to visit.

Talk about 'bad' advice... Petra is so amazing, as is Jordan in general. I've never met such friendly people. Alone on a Friday evening in Aqaba, sitting at a cafe watching football on a tv and I got chatting to some locals who were just so hospitable it was amazing.
Petra is a MUST! As is little Petra, and Madaba, and the Wadi Rum (spectacular desert just like you have imagined), Mukawir and so many other places.
