SE Asia to Australia

kristashley7 has indicated that this thread is about Visas (Australia)

If in Thailand, you can fly out via Bangkok, which may be a two part flight. Direct flights are more expensive.

When a visa ends in Thailand you can bus or fly out and come back and get a 30 days visa waiver allowing you another 30 days there, unless you are at the 90 day limit in a period of 180 days.

Entering Australia, it will depend on how long you plan to stay and if you have a working visa. They may ask about your funds even if you do have a work visa and will definitely ask if you have not. Some such people who obviously plan to work without a visa are literally put on the next plane back home.

If you do not have an exit flight booked, then they will suspect that you expect to spend a long time there so plan to work there so give you a hard time.

Lots and lots of people head to Australia for fruit picking and the like (assuming you do not have some much needed skill) so a job is not that easy to come by. Accommodation is expensive in Australia (check out the link at the top of the page for some idea, knowing that if you book late, the cheap places go and you pay a lot more). You can make a living but don't expect to be able to save lots of money.
