Hello I wonder if anyone can help me I booked to travel to New York in April 2014 a few months ago and filled out my esta which went through fine as I didn't have a criminal record but since then I've been summoned to magistrates court and will be convicted of benefit fraud...
I don't know whether I should apply for a visa...I dont know what to do...I don't want to get to New York And find out I'm going to be deported back to uk if they check the uk criminal record system...if they do that is
And the other thing is I am a British Asian and the last time I travelled to the usa I was treated very badly at immigration kept getting stopped...I made a stupid mistake and feel like I've ruined my life now...any help would be much appreciated thanks

thanks terry that's made me feel better...I was just worried in case I got stopped again...I even got stopped on the way out! felt like a criminal!
It's not just you...The TSA in North America treat people horribly and go on crazy power trips all the time.
Camaro, it's not the TSA officials who are the real hassle - they're simply the dummies pretending to make the skies safer - it's the US CBP (Customs and Border Protection) officials with the sometimes overzealous implementation of Immigration policies...

I agree terry...because I have an Asian name I was singled out and taken into a room and kept waiting for an hour before they said I'm free to enter...
I'm just worried if that happens again they may look at uk criminal record ...and see my new conviction, I've been told I should get community service..
