Schengen Visa - Longer then 90 days theory

Hello all,

Nope it's a rolling 90/180 day period at point of departure.

As Andy said, that doesn't work.

There is, however, talk at the moment of a new type of "touring visa", allowing for stays up to a year, as long as the stay within each individual country remain shorter than 90 days in any 180 day period (though how they're ever going to check that remains anyone's guess). But I haven't heard anything yet as to the likelihood of it actually being implemented, and it's be 2015 at the very earliest for it to take effect.

.

Thank you for your help. So essentially, you can't exceed 90 days within any consecutive 180 day period? Would if be ok to spend 10 days in and 10 days out, continuing this for 180 days?

Hi,

Wikipedia has this to say on the subject....

"Visa-free access to the Schengen Area for 90 days in any 180 day period (which entails considering the 180 day period preceding each day of stay)"

Yes. Or even indefinitely. Do note however that both the date of entry and the date of exit are counted as "in".

Thank you all
