I wouldn't worry too much about what to take as you can always buy stuff out there. The shops in Auckland aren't as good as the UK but they're not too bad so you'll always be able to find pretty much what you want. The weather when you arrive will just be on the turn, and it will start to get chilly at nights, so take a warm coat. Ugg boots aren't seen that much in Auckland because even in the winter it would rarely be cold enough to wear things like that.
Immigration should just need to see your passport which will already be linked to your visa details in the system if it's electronic (when I went it was pasted into my passport). It's possible that they could ask for proof of funds, but this is unlikely as I've never heard of anyone being asked for this.
If you wear makeup bring a good few of whatever you need, NZ is very limited in makeup and about x4 of the price !

Very true, and that goes for toiletries in general. Stock up on your 3 for 2 offers in Boots before you go!
