I am 38 and want go traveling again I woukd love to go around canada and OZ and New Zealand but everywhere I look I am too old I have family in both country and I just would love to travel there and maybe work there for 1 year, so am I too old is there any way around it I really could do with some help on this have anyone on here over 35 traveling in this countrys and living life
Age is immaterial. There are countless travellers your age and scads that are much, much older.
Whether you can work depends on whether your skills would allow you to apply for a Work Visa.
Cheers,
Terry
Basically too old for a working holiday like the kids on here, but no way too old to travel independently. Plenty of us reluctant grown-ups travelling.
Andy
Aged 43.
As a UK citizen you can enter Canada without a visa. I don't know for how long but assume it is 3 months, & maybe longer if you apply for a visa.
As a UK citizen - Australia it seems you can get a visa for up to a year.
As a UK citzen - NZ you can get a visa on arrival for 6 months & may be more if you apply for a visa.
So - that's over a year, but you need a work visa / permit to work.

What's with the too old explain!!!!
I am 69 and hubby is 68 and we travel 3 to 4 months a year so i don;t understand what you are on about.
The countries you are wanting to travel in are a piece of cake to travel in.
You just need the funds good planning plenty of research before you go and off.
I'm just planning a round the world trip now from this Ocr/Nov, if I can plan it I'm sure you can.
Just make sure you have a passport all the visa in place and funding.
You may be too old to get a work visa but you are not too old to travel
have a look at the following websites for opportunities to prolong your stay and meet a lot of other travellers and locals
helpx.net,
workaway
wwoof
and in NZ the BBH.co.nz
I am 56 and still enjoy travel (mainly solo) about 2-4 months per year and use some of the above sites plus housecarers.com ( a house sitting site) to extend my budget and meet other people.
have fun

I totally agree that you are never too old to travel. Save your pennies and do your research before you go and you will be OK. Check hostel, B & B sites and housesitting sites. I am 59 and wouldn't give it away for anyone, I try to get overseas for at least 5 -6 weeks at one time, do lots of walking in the early hours of the morning which is great for photography and no crowds.
Go for it and have fun!!

I'm a younger traveler, but some of my closest friends (and travel buddies!) are older than you are. Age is immaterial/what you make of it. You're only too old to do something if you think you are.

You ask if there is "any way around it"
You may not be able to get a Work Holiday Visa in any of the countries you mention but why not try for a work visa.
If you are a UK Citizen & therefor a European citizen, can you not work in Europe?
That would give you a chance to visit lots of different countries & work too. Lots of English speakers there as well if you have no other language. If you have no other language, take some lessons.
And there is always the ' Marry a foreigner ' route, but as one who has direct experience of that, ( albeit, not a marriage of convenience in my case, more a marriage of inconvenience ) I would suggest you think several times before even looking into that.
