Hey mate, firstly Sydney is a city located in the state of NSW and Queensland is the actual state, capitalled (that might be a word), by Brisbane. Really the answer here is which suits you best? Where are you flying from? Stopovers? There are so many parameters, tell us more of your plan and we will help out as much as we can.
Sorry mate that's me being stupid I meant Brisbane aha, I'm flying from Manchester with one change in Singapore I think if I choose Singapore airlines , I am looking to preferably start work pretty much straight away if possible , cheers for quick reply
If you fly into Adelaide, you could do a circular route down to Melbourne via the Coorong and the great Ocean Rd, up to Sydney and then cross over to Broken Hill or the Riverland down to Adelaide. You will then get a taste of great beaches, great cities and some bush country.
Honestly, I would start in Queensland. Not sure about the work there, but it's definitely cheaper living-wise than Sydney. You can then save money and head down that way when you can. Also it's got more of a relaxed vibe in the Cairns area at least, so then maybe you won't be so worried about money...haha.
I would actually go opposite of what ADL said and fly to Brisbane, work your way down the coast, through to Adelaide, and then up north to see Ayers Rock and the Outback. You didn't give many details about your trip so I'm unsure how much time you have or how much you are trying to accomplish Down Under.
