We're thinking of hiring a vehicle & taking 10-14 days to wander from Cape Town via the garden route to Johannesburg. Cape Town to George looks amazing. What are the main attractions between George and Johannesburg? We'll be at the end of a long east African safari camping tour so wouldn't need to head to Kruger. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I would put in the beatiful Battlefields area including Rorkes Drift, Isandlwana etc. and do a trek in the Upper Drakensberg mountains. Some of the best experiences in my life. Also just experiencing the view down the Tugela River is magic.
Thanks for that ertzgeir. The Upper Drakensberg mountains look fantastic & well worth a look. Why do you rate Battlefields area highly?
It is a tempting but large detour to Upper Drakensberg mountains (en route to Jburg). Can anyone recommend things to see (in addition to Battlefields) along the way ie from Port Elizabeth via UD mountains to Jburg?
Thanks again, Steve
I think, the best attraction in eastern South Africa is shark diving. It is the best way to enjoy yourself. Nowadays, The most of the folks are enjoying the shark diving very much. And the good thing is that if you are new in this domain, then there are so many shark cage diving operators who can assist you in every field. They provide you each and every facility which is essential for you and they will also provide you the proper training. If I talk about my personal experience, when I went to South Africa, then my friend told me about this place. And I was very excited and wanted to enjoy myself at that place. So, when I went to that place, I was surprised...too many sharks were surrounding across my body.It was amazing. What can I say. .. I think, you should go that place.
Thanks for that Allan. Sounds great & will definitely check it out.
Steve
