So I think it's time we discuss the elephant in the forums: Flight MH 370
I think the subject has been beaten to death on air travel forums and other news and specialty forums with tens upon thousands of musings/opinions from countless very knowledgeable aircraft and air travel experts. At least that's where I've been getting my info from...
Cheers,
Terry
I've been reading the forums in some of the newspaper columns and got fed up of all the conspiracy theorists out there. Some people don't want to think that there is a simple explanation for this. My opinion is that there was some kind of catastrophic event on board like a fire, the pilots turned back to try and land in Langkawi or another nearby airport which they didn't manage as they were overcome by flames, and the plane flew on until it ran out of fuel. I still wouldn't be surprised if they find it somewhere completely different to the search area.
So I think it's time we discuss the elephant in the forums: Flight MH 370
I know there may not be a lot that can be said, such as new information, but I am surprised it hasn't appeared in any discussions yet.
I have been wondering why it has not come up. Is it too sensitive a topic? Is the disappearance too scary for travellers to contemplate?
What are your thoughts?
Is it too sensitive a topic? No.
Is it too scary? No.
Why has it not come up? I take that question to be, 'why have I not commented on this forum?' To me, pointless speculation about the disappearance is just that, pointless.
Other questions might be -
Will it deter me from flying? No.
Will it deter you from flying with Malaysian Air. No
Or from/to Malaysia/ China. No
Steve
If you are going to worry about "what may happen" perhaps you should just stay at home and not travel at all. Enjoy yourself while you are still able to travel because one day you won't be able to travel.
All of us that like to travel get on airplanes. Certainly the safest way to travel, but occasionally they do go down. I have accepted the risk and will every time I fly. Just bad luck that those who got on MH 370 picked the wrong flight. I feel terrible for all the families that lost loved ones on MH 370, but will continue to fly whenever I can.
We all know that we have a limited time on this planet. I am not happy with this dying thing, but have finally come to grips with it. Those that flew on MH 370 had their time on Earth come to a very abrupt end. Much sooner than they had planned or hoped for. I doubt anyone on MH 370 thought it would be their last day on Earth. I just pray that was quick and painless. RIP.

Well said Mike
which of the elephant? pet?
Apologies for the use of an English idiomatic expression For those that don't speak English as their native language, the title of this thread refers to a problem that everyone knows very well but no one talks about (the elephant in the room).
