That's brill! Have you sorted some accommodation for New Year? I managed to get in at Sydney Harbour YHA.
Are you going on an organised trip? Mine is with Sta and it's a hop on Hop off so depending how long you stay in Cairns (I've heard most don't want to leave!) then I might see you somewhere on the way down the coast!
It's taken me ages to find others doing the same thing
