I am also going to be travelling to Australia on my own, I will be landing in sydney on 29th September after 2 months travelling around asia :-)
My vague plan is to land in sydney find Accommodation for 2 weeks so i can get my barings and then will be looking to get work so i can also qualify for my 2nd whv. Dont really wanna stay in sydney to long as i have been told it is quite expensive specially the closer it gets to christmas.
Dont really have any great advice as i am just hoping to figure it out when i get there but feel free to add me on fb and am happy to keep in contact incase you do have any questions or what someone in aus to talk to or meet up with when you get there :-)

Wow Asia aswell!! where are you from? I dont know if its best to travel to Aderlaide first as there whole state verifys for a second year visa then after i have done three months then choose an area i would like to stay in. There all ideas atm. i have sent you a private message of my facebook :D Im looking at going around 15th October onwards. im looking at flights atm, obv i will sort my Visa out first before booking everything else!!!

lol yeh am really looking forward to asia should def be an expereince. I am from Hemel hempstead in hertfordshire, heard of it?
i am hoping i will meet people in asia or in the first 2 weeks of being in aus that will help me decide on where i want to go.
Flight centre if definatly worth looking at they did me a really good deal and STA travel is also usually quite good :-) To be fair i booked everything and then only a month or so ago applied fo rmy visa online took 3 hours to be granted so as long as you have no convictions i dont see why there would be any problems :-)
Is there anywhere you really wanna see when you are there?
Will you just be travelling round australia or you thinking of going else where?? I will hopefully be heading over to New zealand after my year in aus.

Yes i have heard of it I looked on STA webiste but will check the other one out too (thanks) Golden Coast, surfers paradise, Sydney.. I would like to visit them places they look great!! i want to mainly stay in one area and settle..
what about you? yes i was thinking that too but depends how much i can save out of being in aus!! as i want to do 2 years.

Also kind of going alone (friends want to stay in Sydney from Nov till after new year, I want to start in Brisbane). All I know is I want to do Sydney for new year and Melbourne for the tennis. After that possibly drive up the coast back to Brisbane.
Need some advice and people with similar plans!

Hi Tom,
I am hopefully going to have 6k after 2 months in asia, but i will be looking for work after the first few months that i get to aus to keep the funds topped up :-)
As far as i know if you are entering aus on a working holiday visa you will need at least 5k in your account but they dont always check :-)
