Hey
I'm not going there, but I'm from there. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have specific questions on a region or topic and I'll do what I can to help. Can't promise I'll be particularly quick responding, as I'm travelling, but I will get back to you. I might be able to help you connect with locals depending on where you're going too.
Cheers.
Hey thanks for getting back to me.
Yeah that would be awesome!
So i wanna start off in Vancouver, what is the work like?
What should i expect?
Hey,
Im rob 21 from uk.
im going to canada, hopefully in February, possibly with a friend, but probably not. So i am looking for a travel companion. If i am going with my friend we will get jobs in a ski resort until the weather warms up, then start to travel around the country, however if i am travelling alone i think im going to live in a city for a while till it warms up then start travelling. Either way, i hope to be well into my travels by june if your interested
Vancouver is one of the largest cities, so there are different options for work. Is there a particular type of work you're interested in?
Is a very multi cultural city with a lot going on. Rated as one of the most livable cities in the world for the past few years, and has a relatively mild climate by Canadian standards - warm winters with very little snow (mostly rain). It's close to the mountains as well.
There are a number of major resorts near there - ski hills, etc. If you're interested in that Rob. Check around whistler. Although, if you go solo and plan to stick with a city, the east might be easier for you to fly into and have some options as well.
Further into the mountains are beautiful though, and quite a few travelers will be working on the various mountains for the winter, so even if you go alone, I'm sure you'd meet quite a few people.
I know a few people in Van, but they all work out of town, so won't be much help there. Sorry.
