Hey people just wanted some tips and info on cool places to visit in Nz ? I'm currently in the South Island but will be heading of for a road trip pretty soon so any info would be really helpfull as I have made no plans yet . Thank you Katie

Hi Katie, you're best bet is to find a travel blog or similar with posts about/based in NZ. They are great for getting to know places and helping you to identify places you must see/ things to do.
The south island is prettier/ more scenic, but it will depend on what you want to do.
I'm planning a trip in a few months to Europe and have found HEAPS of great info/ideas on the trip advisor forums, so I really recommend them

My absolute favorite spot in New Zealand is Lake Tekapo; hike up Mt. John, have a hot chocolate at the observatory cafe, stay a couple of nights at the YHA, sitting behind the huge windows and gazing out at the ever-changing ever-gorgeous colors of the lake.
At Queenstown, follow the old waterpipe up the mountain along One Mile Creek track, and take the gondola back down (or head on to the peak of Ben Lomond if you really love hiking).
At Kaikoura, hike the peninsula walkway around low tide; the way the water's molded the rock is just gorgeous.
From Te Anau, it's well worth hiking most of the first day of the Kepler track and back to town.
An of course go to the glaciers (I love the rainforest hikes around Franz Josef), to Mt. Cook, to Milford Sound, do whale watching at Kaikoura, etc.

Thanks for all the info guys , helps Katie

Yuh.. I would also suggest Lake Tekapo, the best place for hiking and unwinding
