Rather late replying but I'm new to this! I'm also flying out of Manchester at the end of November.. Hopefully 21st and planning on taking about £4000 but I'm hoping to travel for the first month before settling for work and saving a little before continuing my travels.
I've heard off a few friends which have done the same and they have said you can easily travell off £1000 a months so £4000 will be plenty.

I shall hopefully be in sydney when you guys arrive i land in september
im thinking flat sharing is going to work out better then getting a hostel as over the fesitve perioid one of them emailed me there prices and there 70 dollars a night
But i dont even live on my own in england never mind australia so i have no ideA
Also things will be booking out quick - for instance in the hostel- bounce sydney - they fill up for xmas around july
I dont know how many dollars to take i no people onyl take abour 3000 sometimes and some take over 10,000
so i want to aim for about 5 and then work and travel bit my bit on the east coast in cool bars
Im so worried about food cause i have a good appetite - pasta and sauce is probably the way forward with keeping the cost low
Im just going to take as much as possible and work as little as possible
When you come it might be hard to get a place so start planning now !!
