Passport middle page tear

Hello,

Hi,

I have a tear on the front page of my passport last year I flew to Mexico and this was apperently a big problem the lady took my passport away for about 30 mins to show it to someone else and come to a decision but in the end they let me go through but they was not happy

Thanks for your answer, holx!

My first page is totally fine, my us visa is also brand new, passport is generally is in very good shape, it was always in a protective cover. There is only a problem with the page just before US visa, which now has 2 cm tear in the bottom. That page doesn't have any visas or entry/exit stamps, except one stamp regarding my my exchange visa that it's valid only with i-20 or ds 2019 etc.

Here is a photo of the damage I have:

Do you think this damage will constitute my passport as damaged and would not allow me to enter the US? I'm not citizen of the US, btw.

I don't see this being an issue at all in the US. It's obvious that you didn't modify your passport yourself, and your US visa stamp is on a different page. I wouldn't worry about it.

P.S. I don't know what the Mexican lady was thinking--maybe it's because she needed for you to have a special visa for Mexico that wasn't there.

Enjoy
