From what I've read, those flights are slightly cheaper than the alternative - which is to sail taking a few days.
Sometimes there isn't a budget alternative and you just have to swallow it.
I saw people travelling from Panama City to Puanto Obita and then by boat to Colombia. Does anyone have something about that?
Travelling by boat between Panama and Colombia is a popular way to do that route. It's not necessarily much cheaper then flying but you get to see the beautiful San Blas islands along the way.
