Flying into Colombia - Do I need a return ticket?

Hello all,

I flew into Cartagena from Panama City with a very small budget airline (www.aires.com.co) and had no questions asked upon entry.

Many S.American countries require a departure ticket, it all comes down to luck i guess, Tho having your departure ticket from Peru handy would help your cause if questions were asked!

Have a blast!

hi there.

I think most countries everywhere tend to officially need onward tickets.

I have stopped buying onward tickets.

No one asks me for onward tickets. (with the exception of one border in Costa Rica...but that's a scam.)

I flew into Colombia four times. I have entered countries in planes, trains, automobiles, boats and on foot. Never once had an onward ticket. No one asked me anything.(except for one border in Costa Rica....but that's a scam.) I was neat and clean. I looked like I had money, and I was polite. I have seen people refused. two punker girls, a white guy with dreads, and a Goth guy. They didn't clean up, looked like they were immediately going to find a place to sleep on the streets. No one wants someone who is going to be a drain on their economy, they want someone who is going to be a boon. Be a boon.

And I don't even know how you can possibly present on onward ticket in the days of the ETicket. To make yourse; feel better, go set up an itinerary for an onward trip. Print that out and carry it. That itinerary is all you'll need.
