I think in principle this would work, but does Poland have an agreement with Australia regarding the working holiday scheme? I don't think so, which would mean it wouldn't be available for Polish citizens.
I'm not sure. I thought since they were part of the EU that they would have one. I'd have to look into it. I'm just iffy about whether or not Australia gives out another year based on another citizenship. I've heard people do it before but not sure if there are consequences involved for doing so.
Sadly, it's not based on EU or not. You have to have the citizenship of one of the countries that has a working holiday agreement with Australia. a list of countries that currently have agreements in place.
