I believe your question can't be easily answered, because these categories encompass huge land areas. Malaysia, for instance, has multiple typhoon seasons depending on which area of the country one is going. Generally, OZ/NZ is quite nice in October, and I would think that Eastern China would be good in Spring or Fall. SE Asia is just too varied to give one particular season - high season generally being mid-winter, and India has various climates depending on weather (would think that Summer would be much too hot for India, but perfect for Nepal). You need to study each destination separately. I do know that you should avoid N. Laos from Feb-March because of poor air quality issues (that's when they burn the rice stubble). One word of advice - 1/2 month is certainly not enough time for North Thailand, Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam!
