Gorilla Trek & Safari

Hi - I am trying to plan a trip to Kenya and Uganda next may/june

Hey there,

Many companies do that route but at the budget end I would recommend the following:
Africa Travel Co, Acacia Africa, Oasis Overland.

All have a 3 week (ish) overland trip out of Nairobi that will get you to all the places you have mentioned. Gorilla permits are charged over and above the trip price and details as to permit costs are listed on their websites.

The country you will eventually see the gorilla's in will depend on availability of permits and costs change accordingly. Don't forget to factor in differing visa costs for the trek as it could be in Uganda, Rwanda or the DRC.

May and June is a good time to go, you will miss the rainy season, but no time is really a bad time to travel in East Africa.

Have fun!

Hi there!

I have just come back (Monday) from an overlanding trip starting in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda then back through Uganda to Kenya. I saw the Gorillas in Rwanda which was simply amazing!!
I booked with Trailfinders and went on the Dragoman tour (our Gorilla permit was included in our kitty money). It was mainly camping with upgrade avaliable if you wanted to upgrade most evenings.

Any other q's please ask - I recommend this it was brillaint!!

Rwanda is the place you should be looking for if you are looking to go for a gorilla Treck.
