1 hour is not that long, so perhaps be a bit more patient? Also your post is a little vague, making it difficult to give suggestions of how much you might need.
No mention of countries (except France), and specifically cities of those countries, which makes it difficult to suggest accommodation. No mention of if you will be cooking all, most or only some of your meals (rather than eating at restaurants and other eating places).
You haven't really mentioned what country/countries you would be working in - have you already got or looked into appropriate visas to work in any European country, if required?
By all over Europe, what do you mean? There's something like 40-50 countries in Europe.
Im looking for what country you all would suggest going to and what hostels to stay in while were there.

On the food front we would be looking to cook most of our own food maybe eat out once or twice and also may even camp out if we can find a place

You don't need a visa to work in countries that are part of the EU. Although if you're a British citizen from either the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man there might be restrictions depending on your situation, though this would be marked in your British passport.
What places are worth visiting in europe?

Every country in Europe is worth visiting - it depends on what you are looking for, nightlife, culture, beaches, history, art..... It's really hard to make suggestions when we know nothing about what you are looking for.
Well we are really looking for culture and history also a little night life
I have a few places in mind
Berlin
France - to visit normandy and paris
Poland - warszawa and Oswiecim to visit Auschwitz
Amsterdam
Porto
So we have a few places we want to go
What places are worth visiting in europe?
That's a very subjective question. IMO the most interesting countries in Europe are:
Germany
France
Italy
Greece
England
Sweden
For culture, history and nightlife, I don't think you can beat Italy and Greece - especially the capital cities of Rome and Athens.
Having said this, every country is worth visiting at least once, some countries/locations make excellent winter destinations, whilst others are best in summer. It also depends on what you're looking for.
