Help with passports!

Hi I am a nineteen year old student who was born in England but my dad was born in America and I was wondering whether it is possible for me to get an American passport as I'm planning on staying with some relatives and possibly finding some work. If it is, where do I apply as all the websites I have been looking through are extremely complicated.

You are certainly entitled to a US passport. Any child born to a US father can obtain a US passport. A friend of mine in Thailand got his son a US passport w/o marrying his Thai GF. Bruce went to the US Embassy in BKK, presented his passport, the birth certificate, filled out all the paperwork and got Tyler a US passport. Bruce has brought Tyler to the US several times to see the grandparents. It is possible.

I would contact the US Embassy in the UK and go from there. You will probably need to go in person with all of your documents. It would be great if dad went with you. That should speed things up. Good luck.

yeah, exactly as Vegas Mike says, go to the embassy. Of course you get a passport.

Thank you very much for both of your help! It turns out my dad needs to renew his passport before I can apply for one so once all that has gone through I should be able to succeed in getting one!

Great news! When you get to the US, send me a PM if you are going to visit Las Vegas. I will help all I can to make your Vegas experience a success.
