Tunisia: Your recommendations please!?

Hello all

Hi Stephen and Jen!
It's been a while since I was there, but I can tell you some of the things I remember.
Tunis is a great visit, though I didn't want to stay there for many days. Its older part, Sidi Bou Said, is incredibly beautiful, especially some of the higher points have incredible view of the sea and city.

Nearby is Carthage, also worth at least half a day.

I don't imagine the weather is too great in december, but if you're interested I can greatly recommend some camel riding. When I was there, they had some camels you could ride around Sousse, but for the real experience you should go further south closer to the desert. There you also pass El Jem, an amphitheater from the roman period, and Matmata, a province where some people still live in caves (and they filmed some Star Wars scenes here).

With the right frame of mind it's a very exciting place, but bear in mind the cultural differences can be quite big.
