Ok so i leave the uk to phuket on the 16th of november. And stupidly my vaccinces were over shadowed for one reason and another... basically i forgot them i know this is stupid so need no telling off.
After contacting my doctors they cant fit me in for them until the day before i got!!! eeek!
What will i need to have??? Hep A + B and malaria tablets?
Unless you are doing serious jungle trekking, malaria really isn't a concern.
Hep A would be good to have, even if your only excursion is eating out around your hometown. Around Asia, it's simply a bit more easily transmitted due to the proper use of Asian toilets and lacking sanitary facilities.
If you aren't getting personal with the locals, and don't get into any accidents, Hep B isn't any problem.
Only eat well cooked food, seafood especially, and typhoid should be covered.
Cover up and/or use DEET based repellent to guard against Dengue.
Hep A and typhoid are normally the standard injections for Thailand. I was advised to have a tetanus booster too.
You might as well get hep a and thyphoid jabs beuase im pretty sure they're free on the NHS plus you only need one vacination for each and if you're struggling to get an appointmnent with your GP try Nomad travel if there's one close by. Check you're in a maleria zone before buying tablets as you may not need them and have a really amazing time!!!
xx
