To be sure why not get a 2 months visa in an indonesian embassy.?
When asking for a visa on arrival nobody asked me to show a return flight ticket at Denpasar airport, when arriving here in december. So i assume it will be no problem to come in.
But extension of the visa will cost you some time.

I didn't get asked to show my return ticket on entering Indonesia (in Jakarta) either but a guy on my tour did, so it probably just depends on the person you get at immigration. I agree with the previous poster though that it might just be less hassle to get your extended visa before you enter the country.
