i'm with the same plans - by land from Ethiopia down to SA and ending in Namibia.
I might be with a friend some of the trip in the beginning, but mostly its alone.
I hope to hit Addis late January/early Feb. What are your dates?

I'm very interested. Have been searching the net for awhile now, but most packages seemed too expensive... plus, I don't want to be a part of a pre-organized tour.
I'm from Egypt, and planning to visit some friends in South Africa, but thought it would be more fun to go overland than by air.
Have been thinking to do it alone too, but I don't know anything about Africa and am a woman.. so I was a little intimidated.
I've been dreaming about that beautiful town in Mozambique called Vilanculos, would love to visit it along the way.
I need to get to south Africa in February, if not in April.
What is the estimated budget for this?
