Hey! Im a 23 year old girl from Galway heading out on my own for a year in August, im also very nervous as im not exactly that great at finding my way around and im really nervous about being on my own but hopefully i'll meet some people! I'm booking my flights middle of next month think im gonna start off in perth and then head over to sydney but its so hard to decide! Pretty exciting tho this country is getting way too depressing, are you planning on finding work straight away?xx

thanks for the encouragment guys

gonna start saving like crazy, hope ill have enough saved so ill have a month or so of just travelling then try find some work, what about you??

anyone been before any tips on places to go??

getting really excited thinking bout it xx

I've just got back from spending a month in Oz and loved it that much I'm looking to go back for a month in August. I'll be traveling alone and really scared too as I was with a friend before! Hoping to find some travel buddies on here though Totally gutted though as I'm too old to get a working visa as I'm desperate to stay out there longer I heard you can get cash in hand jobs doing fruit picking and stuff. Any advice on this as I'd love to be out there as long as I can!!! xx

Tya, did you know that I think you can get a visa for New Zealand up to the age of 35 (through BUNAC)? And in my opinion New Zealand is a much better country than Australia (only my opinion though of course!) x

Hey Steve, yes, actually I found that out last week and have been thinking about it. The weathers not as good as it is in Oz though is it? I love my sunshine heat!!! New Zealand is definately one to consider though x

Get up to the Bay of Islands or Auckland! I think even in the winter it only gets down to about 15 degrees there, and in the summer you are looking at the high 20’s.

In fact I was in Queenstown on the South Island in May and even then it was still warm enough for me to walk around in shorts during the day, although I have to say it did get pretty chilly once the sun went down!

Hi

Im planning on starting in perth at the start of May on my own too and have no clue about planning these sort of things but from what ive read loads of people head out on their own with no problems - besides it cant be worse than Belfast right?
