Tanzania and Zanzibar

Hi

Hey, spent 1 weeks in Tanzania last year, really beautiful place, although very little time in Zanzibar, Stone Town we found was very nice with alot of culture and history.
Spent most of our time at mafia island, and i just want to really recommend it, has great beaches and very nice people and I will definitely go back for more diving

Hi Frankie,

I have just spent a year in Tanzania, really is a beautiful country, so much to see and the people are the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever met!!! I was also there as a single female but it is not a problem at all as you will meet people in a flash.
With regards to your safari, it does depend where abouts you are going in Tanzania and for how long???? I was mainly based in the Moshi area, where there are plenty of tour agents...some a bit dodgy but some amazing. I would recommend Original Tanzania (originaltanzania.com, I believe they have a new website coming out), they were excellent at creating an itinerary that met all my wishes, the food & guide were so helpful and attentive!!
Please be aware that there are company's out there that will try & ripp you off, so the biggest rule is stay alert and haggle, haggle, haggle!!! I have not been to Serengeti but heard it is breath taking, I did do Ngorongo - just out of this world. It was also quite easy to find other people to go on safari with, always nice to go in a group (and cheaper). June is a great time to go, so many people around, do take some wellies though - the rainy season can be very muddy to say the least.
I stayed in Paje in Zanzibar - OMG, sand like flour, the ocean was stunning and the people very friendly. I found it very expensive though and found the constant need to haggle for absolutely everything (or you'll be ripped off) quite tiresome. Sorry for such a long answer. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything else

Ive just booked a flight to nairobi on 25th july and was wondering what you can reccomend?? I was also wanting to ask tarryn if you had any advice for me as i would like to meet a group to go on safari with rather than alone??

Hello Frankie,

I have lived all my life in East Africa, mostly Kenya, and I have travelled to Tanzania on many occasions.

Tanzania is a beautiful country with lots to see and lots to do. I am sure you will not get bored during your visit and your family also will have the time of their life.

In regards to tour operators, I can recommend -snip-

Your destinations are cleverly chosen, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Zanzibar and you will definitely make the most from it.

Inbox me for any other further information and I will be glad to assist you.

Cheers.
Murtaza
