Greece nowaday, a good idea?

Hei travellers

Not so much money about but life goes on in Greece. As you say, they are friendly and helpful, and now more than ever they need tourist money.

However if you are relying on the generosity of others, there may not be much of it about. I have read stories of kids being dumped by parents who can no longer afford them.

I am presently on the Costa del Sol and we we have some "cheap travellers" about, taking advantage of the generally good weather (though the last few days have been unusually cold, but we are promised better weather starting tomorrow).

Hi A.L.
I really never seen something so cheap as Cyberia said about Greek people, why so did not say where is she/he coming from?
Anyway very cheap place is Corfu where it has Airport with Direct flights from most the Eupopean capitals.
Also during you time over there you can find time to see Paxos-Antipaxos, 2 beatiful islands

If you want I can give you some directions

george

you can expect criminality only in big cities, not around all greece in villages or in resorts. greek people still are the same if they don't live in athens or thessaloniki. as for cheap holidays, if you like hiking and need mild climate the best idea is Parga, people there are wonderful, many places to visit and cheap food, read -snip-

Hey,

I cant tell you about all of Greece, but i can tell you that Athens is great! i went there 2 months ago, the life was normal, really friendly people, restaurants and shops opened normally ! and then ffrom Athens i took the boat to Aegina Island which is also amazing, i spent a whole day there

So i guess it s a really good place to visit!

Great

Thanks for your answers I'm so looking forward to travel again in warmer areas
