Hi i'm off on my first trip to Thailand next week and was wondering where to go for the month i am there. I'm not really concerned too much with partying or whatever mainly i'd like a nice quiet beach with decent budget accomadation. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions - Cheers
One month at the same place is a long time. To break it up I'd suggest Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. They are all close to each other. Google and read up on them and see what you think.
For really quiet google Koh Lanta.
You might take a look at as well.
Yea .. Ko Phi Phi and Ko Phangan are probably the most expensive islands even for "budget" lodging.
koh Lipe is up and coming and you can still find some sweet spots that are not ram packed for major down time.
Don't spend all of your time only at a beach area. Also include a few days in Bangkok coming and at least a day or two just before you fly home. This way you can see that city, do some tours and arrange your flights to other places in Thailand. You probably have beaches in your country but do you have elephants and old temples?
See if you can fit in a visit to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai will give you probably a better image of Thailand than a beach. Bangkok hotels and transportation are cheaper than Phuket and many island area beaches.
When you ask for hotel suggestions include your price range. Budget accommodation for one tourist may be too expensive for another tourist.
When traveling between cities, a little research can save you a lot of money. It’s easy to get lazy and just let the hotel arrange your tickets — they’ll have a taxi pick you up and take you to the bus or train station. It is damn convenient, but you pay a premium — at least 25% more, and sometimes as much as double..
The tuk tuks generally seem to be the most expensive option — they always quote twice the real rate and are tough to haggle with better is to take a taxi not Bargaining is the best thing which you can do but make sure you are smart enough as they fool you too much .
Street and restaurant food in Thailand is some of the best in the world. It’s cheap, and above all, it is Thai – one of the world’s most favoured cuisines. Travel in Thailand is also inexpensive
entertainment in Thailand can also be reasonably inexpensive. Cinema tickets are among the cheapest in the world and local and international artists perform concerts at prices substantially cheaper than you will encounter in the west. Look around and you will find bars clubs and other entertainment venues all available at moderate prices..
Almost every part of Thailand has guesthouses and low-cost hotels available for only a few dollars a night. Look around and you’ll find cheap, clean and safe budget accommodation is plentiful, whatever your budget.
Go to Pattaya for more real fun ...
