Good tour company for short Africa trip

Hi all,

Hi

I was in Kenya in October and went with a company called G Adventures. It was a really good company and I was very happy with them. I did a 2 week treck to see the mountain gorillas in Uganda followed by 3 weeks traveling from nairobi down to zambia. They have shorter and longer segments in those aireas but I am not 100% sure what they are. The other Company that I saw a lot of was Intrepid but I did not go with them and cant really say how they are.

hope you have fun.

You can try Archer’s Tours and Travels Ltd. I personally did not experienced it but my cousin was there in Kenya and Seychelles last September-October and he did used their services and it was not a bad deal according to him.

I've been game viewing and doing tours, both alone and with groups, through Kenya for the past 7 years and have used the same guy on all ocassions. When I met him first he worked for a large safari/tour compeany who were way too expensive. He then went out on his own and I'm so happy he did.

He can organise the whole deal for you, whether you want to go camping, cheap tented lodges or the top-of-the-range hotels in all areas. If you want to mail me directly I can give you his contact details. I can vouch for his knowledge, security and friendship 100%.

I used Acacia when I was over there, and they were great.

But I was there in the quiet season and hence the tour wasn't full, it might have been less fun had every seat in the bus been taken.

But the big companies are all pretty good.

Other than GAP and Acacia, check out Intrepid or Geckos.

Howdy!

I was there late last year for slightly over a week. You simply MUST go to the Masai Mara if you are in Kenya. There really is no place like it if you ask me. I had an amazing experience and got to actually stay in a Masai village (an actual one and not the type that are there for the tourist circuit).

I went with a company called -snip- who seem to be old hands in the industry. I had shopped around for quite some time and they seemed to be the best in terms of price and the service did not disappoint.

I suggest that you write to all the companies mentioned here and do a comparison. Another pointer, pick a company that is registered with KATO (look it up, it's the government regulatory arm for tourism).

Enjoy if you do decide to go!
